Visitor Assistant

In the Visitor Services department provide customer service to all museum guests

through general information desk, tickets sales, and various administrative duties.    

 

2006                                                    

Joel Nafuma Refugee Center, Rome, Italy

Volunteer

Facilitated weekly drawing workshops with international refugees.   

 

2004-2005                                                

Princeton University Art Museum, Princeton, NJ

Museum Intern   

Assisted Curator of Education with the Princeton University Preparatory Program art workshops for disadvantaged high school students and Family Day events.   Also worked with the Directors, Public Relations, Friends, Sales, and Security offices of the museum.   Projects included: designing/proposing membership gift packages and event brochures, assistance in creating new security manual, gift shop sales/customer service, and various administrative tasks.

 

2003-2005                                    

Hasbro Children's Hospital, Providence, RI

Programs Assistant

Job responsibilities include: Hospital art programs assisting and teaching both adult and children patients through'Bottles of Hope' (clay art), 'Art While You Wait' (emergency room program), and 'Museum on Rounds' (in-patient workshops).   Other jobs entail assisting art director in creation of sample projects, organization, and installation of art exhibits.  

 

2002-2005                                    

RISD REACH, Providence, RI

Project Coordinator, Mentor

Organization performing outreach service projects within the Providence, RI community. Worked to maintain relationship with Cityarts! a local non-profit and organized projects working with children involving murals, costume making, drawing, painting, etc.

Student Participant

Worked over the course of a semester to develop two murals.   One, a collaborative  mural at Crossroads, a homeless shelter in downtown Providence and an individual mural at a family and teen counseling center of Rhode Island Hospital

Art Mentor

Served as an art mentor to developmentally disabled high school students, affiliated with Bradley Hospital, creating collaborative projects including: ceramics, drawing, painting, art history, etc.

Main Street Studio Project, RISD, Pawtucket, RI

Art Mentor

Served as an art mentor to students at The Pawtucket Boys and Girls Club Arts Center as part of 'Catalyst Arts: RISD's Service Learning-Community Based Arts Diversity Initiative' creating collaborative projects including: mural, performance, costume, etc.

Art Mentor

Facilitated workshops involving poetry and art once a week to sixth grade Providence elementary students.

ARTWORKS Visual Art School and Gallery, Trenton, NJ

Student Intern

Close involvement in the Learning Through Art outreach program in conjunction with the Guggenheim Museum in NYC, working with fourth and fifth grade students from Trenton Public Elementary Schools.   Also provided gallery assistance staging exhibits along with arts administration/office organization.
